Unique baby names are an obvious trend right now. We are witnessing celebrities go the extra mile (emphasis on extra) to find one-of-a-kind names for their newborns (just look to Kylie Jenner’s daughter, Stormi, Cardi B’s daughter, Kulture, and Busy Philipp’s daughter, Birdie). This tendency appears to be trickling down from A-listers to the everyday commoners according to namberry.com and huffingtonpost.com, who managed to collect a list of the most outrageous baby names amongst American newborns last year based off the U.S. Social Security Administration. Among that list is a shocking compilation of brand names turned baby names that will have you thinking either: aww or huh?

We have all heard of Tesla, the American multinational corporation known for electric vehicles, lithium-ion battery energy storage, and solar panel manufacturing. Well, this past year 130 girls and 11 boys were named after Elon Musk’s famed company, adding it to the unisex category of unique names.

Some serious sports fans found the name Espn—Yes, like the cable television channel ESPN—fit for their little ones with 12 girls and six boys receiving the abbreviation as their namesake.

Representing the beverage genre, 10 boys were named Evian—regarding the French mineral water company—while 24 girls were named Fanta—after the Coca-Cola Company's fruit-flavored sodas.

Shockingly, 21 girls were named after the Italian firearms manufacturing company, Beretta, and 20 girls were named after American makeup brand Maybelline.

Lastly, five girls were named after the Belgian chocolate manufacturer, Godiva, last year. I mean who doesn't love chocolate, right?

There are a few names we can appreciate for their authenticity, but we would be lying if we said there weren’t a few that had us scratching our heads. We’ll leave you to decide for yourselves if these names make the top of your baby name list or don’t make your list at all.
