It's a girl for comedian Mike Myers and wife Kelly Tisdale! Find out the meaning behind the traditional name they chose.
Comedian Mike Myers and wife Kelly Tisdale went in a completely different direction when naming baby #3, who arrived Nov. 2. After choosing the non-traditional names Spike and Sunday Molly for their first two children, the third got a very classic baby name pick: Paulina Kathleen.
Paulina is, of course, the feminization of the tried-and-true boys' name, Paul, and shares its meaning: "small." (Myers has a brother named Paul, who could be the inspiration behind this pick.) Supermodel Paulina Porizkova helped account for its sudden bump of popularity in the 1990s, but since then, it's settled back into its typical position just inside the top 1,000. It's a perfect baby name pick for those who want something different, but don't want to go too obscure.
Kathleen is descended from Katherine—it's a variant spelling of the Irish take on the name, Caitlin. And it shares its meaning: "pure." Kathleen peaked in popularity way back in the 1940s, but it's still a more popular choice than the first name picked by Myers and Tisdale—it's currently just inside the top 700.
All in all, it's a lovely baby name choice, though not exactly in line with their picks for their older kids (son Spike is 4, and daughter Sunday Molly is 18 months).
