Heather Clarke is an educator, disability advocate, lecturer, and parent coach. She is also the founder and CEO of The Learning Advocate.


Heather has been an adjunct professor of special education and elementary education and early childhood development and education at Brooklyn College and Queen’s College since 2017. She is also an adjunct professor of special education and field mentor to student teachers at New York University.

She is the founder and CEO of the Learning Advocate. Prior to that, she has worked in special education and served as a consultant for the United Nations Development Fund for Women (UNIFEM).


Heather attended La Universidad de Granada (the University of Granada in Spain), earning a Certificate of Advanced Superior Spanish and went on to graduate cum laude and receive her BA from Marymount Manhattan College.

She completed her MA in economics at The University of Manchester in the United Kingdom, an MSc. Elementary Education and Teaching from Queens College, an MSc. Special Education and Early Childhood, Birth-Grade 2, from Touro University, and attended the Early Childhood Methods & Programs at Teachers College at Columbia University.
