Q: Can you take a bath in the last trimester?
A: It is absolutely ok to take a bath during pregnancy, and in fact, it is a great way to relax, soothe sore muscles and help with low back pain. There are a few points of caution, however. First of all, taking a warm bath is ok, but taking a HOT bath is not. So, keep the water temperature under 100 degrees. Taking a bath that is too hot can not only lead to dehydration and dizziness in you, but in the first trimester, hot temperatures can potentially lead to birth defects, such as neural tube defects (problems with the baby's brain and spine). Additionally, taking frequent bubble baths can cause vaginal irritation, so keep the bubbles to a minimum
