Can I take Tylenol PM when I'm pregnant?

Q: Is it okay to take Tylenol PM every night of my pregnancy for the whole nine months?

A: Tylenol PM is simply a combination of Tylenol and Benadryl. Although both of these medications are considered safe during pregnancy, long-term Benadryl use is not recommended as you can build up a tolerance to the medication, and there are reports of depression, brain and/or stomach damage, and other problems such as withdrawal seizures.
