-So, I'm a flu researcher. One of the questions we get from time to time is just how safe is the flu vaccine. This is an extremely safe vaccine. It's recommended for babies down as young as 6 months of age because they don't have good protection from the flu and it's even recommended strongly for pregnant women. Flu can be very severe in pregnant women both for the mom and the baby and the flu vaccine is absolutely safe in populations even those who have some immunocompromise, who are pregnant, or who are very young.
