The optimal time to get pregnant is when you're ovulating. I am Dr. Obosa Osawe. Here is what you need to know to target your most fertile time of the month. There is a five- to seven-day window each month when you can get pregnant, this is when you're ovary releases a mature egg into the fallopian tube and it moves down the fallopian tube into the uterus. You can get pregnant at anytime during this journey. Most women with regular periods have a 28- to 30-day cycle. If this is true for you, expect to ovulate about 14 days after the first day of your last period. If you know the first day of your last period and the length of your typical cycle, you can use the online ovulation predictor. If you have a longer cycle, irregular periods or don't typically keep track of your cycle, you can figure out your fertile days using an ovulation kit from your local drug store. These kits come with tests strips or sticks that can help you determine when you are ovulating.
