Kick off the school year with a special package that's stuffed with new school supplies.
In Germany, it's a tradition to give a child a "Schultüte", a paper cone filled with school supplies and treats for his first day of school. It's a fun idea anywhere. To make one, you'll need lightweight poster board, wrapping paper, scissors, regular and double-sided tape, tissue paper, and ribbon. Roll the poster board into a cone and tape the edge to hold it in place. Trim the top of the cone to make it even. Lay the cone on the wrapping paper, roll it up and tape it. Trim the top edge leaving a few inches of excess paper. Cut slits into the wrapping paper, then fold down the tabs and tape them inside the cone. Place pieces of double-sided tape along the top edge of the cone. Wrap a sheet of tissue paper around the cone adhering it to the tape. Lift up the tissue paper. Fill the cone with school related goodies and treats. Then cinch and tie the tissue paper with the ribbon. This gift will start your child's school year with a smile.
