A cute, after-school or classroom snack for kids.
These school-themed treats are a fun way for your little scholar to mark the start of a new school year. To make several boards, you'll need: a chocolate bar, a toothpick, a quarter cup of powdered sugar, soft caramel candies, and white sprinkles. Divide the chocolate bar into 4 equal pieces along its grooves. To make a board, use the toothpick to etch a message or drawing into the back of one of the chocolate pieces. If needed, brush away any excess chocolate. Place a sheet of wax paper on your work surface. Sprinkle powdered sugar on the bar then gently rub it into the etch marks. Use a lightly dampened paper towel to wipe away any sugar that is not trapped in the etching. Roll and flatten several caramels into long, thin strips. Cut them to fit the edges of the board. Moisten one side of each strip with water and press them into place to form a frame. Add a few sprinkles to the bottom of the board for chalk. Served up as a surprise, these chocolatey choc-board treats will earn you top marks from your child.
