How to Make Snowflake Hearts
Cut out snowflake hearts to make these one-of-a-kind Valentines.
You've made paper snowflakes, but have you ever made a snowflake heart? Check out this adorable craft that turns into a beautiful Valentine. For this project, you'll need colored card stock, colored origami paper, scissors, double-stick tape, a pencil and the templates printed from parents.com/heart. To make the back of the card, fold the piece of card stock in half. Take the large heart from the template and place a straight edge on the fold like this. Cut it out just inside the pencil line. Now, we're gonna make the snowflake heart. Fold a piece of origami paper in half and trace the half heart template onto the paper, placing the straight edge on the fold. Cut it out but don't unfold it. Now, we're gonna fold the paper like we would to make a snowflake. Fold the bottom part of the heart up to the center divot at the top. Turn it over and fold the bottom edge up so it lines up with the original center fold. Use your scissors to cut shapes along the 2 folded edges like you would for a paper snowflake. Unfold it to reveal your beautiful pattern. Use double-stick tape to attach your lovely snowflake heart to the card. Just like snowflakes, no 2 hearts will look alike.
