How to Make Baby-Face Cookies
Learn how to make adorable baby face cookies to serve at a baby shower.
What could be cuter than a whole bunch of little baby facies smiling up by you. These little baby-face cookies are synced to make and add a touch of whimsy to the dessert table at a baby shower. Start with small store-bought cookies. I'm using Nilla wafers, which seems fitting since they are kiddy favorite. With royal icing that I've tinted peach using some gel color and place in a pastry bag, I'm going to pipe a border around the edge of the cookie. If you don't need a pastry bag for this, you can use a resealable plastic bag and just sniff off the tip. You wanna repeat this step for each cookie you want to give a face. The next step is to flat inside the border with some more royal icing that has been thin out just a bit with a little water. Thinning it out lets the icing spread more easily and the border you pipe gives the icing from dripping up the sides. Once all of the cookies are coated in the royal icing, just set them aside to harden. This should take anywhere between 30 minutes to an hour depending on how thick your icing is. Once the icing is harden, use a food safe marker to draft faces on all of the cookies. I like to give mine smiling little mask and a sweet little curl of hair.
