Child with Bronchiolitis

This little girl has bronchiolitis. Her breathing is faster than normal, and she has shortness of breath with wheezing. Look at the sucking in, also called retractions, of the chest wall under the ribs. This means she is having a breathing problem. She has a little rattling and an irritating cough. If your child has breathing difficulty, you should contact your doctor as it could be bronchiolitis. Notice the retractions seen in between the ribs. These retractions are a sign of needing to use extra breathing muscles.
