We've all been there: You get your kids all buckled up for a long car ride, and as soon as you're on the road you hear the familiar cry, "Mommy, I have to go potty!" Of course, when you're out and about, it's no fun making bathroom stops with your kids. But when you gotta go, you gotta go, so here are some suggestions on how to keep your family germ-free and safe when using a public restroom.

Parents magazine should delete this photo of 3 children belted in the backseat. The one in the middle should be in a booster because the belt is not on him properly! He would be severely injured in an accident. The lap belt should be on his hips and the upper belt should never be on a child's neck. Get a photo that shows parents the SAFE way to use seat belts. PLEASE! Parents magazine is a source for parenting education. Do it RIGHT!

I agree with erobinson92 nad k.stark09. You need to set the standard for car seat safety and having the seat belt hitting the children where it does could be lethal...even in a fender bender. Please change that picture.

Although my kids are fully potty trained, I still keep Pull-Ups in my vehicle for emergencies. We were at a 4th of July fireworks display and the nearest bathroom was across a field. Surrounded by other cars, and my daughter urgently needing to go potty, I had her remove her panties and put the Pull-up on to go potty in the privacy of our van. We then simply used wipes, got her dressed, and disposed of the Pull-up in a plastic bag until we could find a garbage can. Worked perfectly!!!
