Kate Karcher Clark founded Yottoy in 1995, with the goal of creating toys with fine details that encourage a special interaction between adults and children. Yottoy -- "toy" spelled backwards and forwards -- sells handcrafted stuffed animals, stylish backpacks, and plush toys.
All of Yottoy's products are designed by hand in the company's studio in New York City, and they feature hand-embroidery, hand-sewing, and high-quality fabrics. Yottoy has three collections: Classic, Contemporary, and Signature. Classic toys are based on characters from well-known children’s books, such as Babar, Madeline, the Velveteen Rabbit, and Paddington Bear. Toys in the Contemporary line have a whimsical twist on modern trends, such as the plush toy Mr. Night (his suit is dotted with glow-in-the-dark stars), and the Stinky Cheese Man. Toys in the Signature line are extra-colorful.
One of Yottoy's bestsellers is the Frog Prince Soft Toy and Mini Book. The frog prince has hand-embroidered eyes, hand-stitched details, and a polka-dotted silk-gingham chest. He comes with a little book of classic fairy tales.
