The Panasonic AG-AC160A AVCCAM HD Handheld Camcorder is an upgraded version of the AG-AC160. The upgrade consists of the additio...n of 1080/60p and 50p recording (max. 28Mbps in PS mode), expanded focus assist functionality, and a inchturbo speedinch one-push auto focus function. 60p/50p capture capacity gives you excellent control over slow-motion. Shooting in 60p, you can play back 24p for a 2.5x slow-motion effect. With expanded focus assist you can zoom in on an image to check focus. And one-push auto focus affords the option of very quickly attaining focus in circumstances requiring on-the-go focusing. As for other features, the AG-AC160A is a high-definition workhorse of a professional handheld camcorder that integrates seamlessly with a wide range of current broadcast video systems in place around the world. With an integrated 22x zoom lens and a 1/3-type 3MOS three-element imager, the camera captures AVCHD video to two SD/SDHC/SDXC card slots as 1080p60, 1080p30, 1080i60, filmic 1080p24, and 720p60. But that's not it for frame rates: for creative slow-/fast-motion effects, overcranking and undercranking are possible at a variety of rates between 2 and 60 frames per second. For worldwide compatibility, the AC160A also captures a variety of 50 Hz video signals for easy integration with PAL projects and video systems. The AC160A features Panasonic's professional-level PS implementation of AVCHD. It's a top-quality choice at a max rate of 28 Mb/s; several other data rates will conserve card space as you capture hours of HD video. For projects that require standard-def capture, the AC160A has you covered with DV recording, which can then be output via its 6-pin IEEE 1394 (FireWire) port. For high-def output, the HD-SDI terminal puts out HD signals including 1920 x 1080 at 24PsF. The AC160A offers a bevy of other professional-level features, including dual XLRs with phantom power, SMPTE time-code generation, gamma settings for seven different scenarios, and manual control rings for iris, zoom, and focus. To monitor the status of all settings, and to perform critical focusing functions, the AVCCAM camcorder features both a high-quality 3.45inch LCD screen and a full-color LCoS 0.45inch viewfinder with 1,226,000 dots (852 x 480 x 3 [RGB]) of resolution. (Current owners of the AC160 can simply have the upgrades added to their cameras. The 60p/50p capacity upgrade is free and you can perform it yourself, but the other two additions would include a hardware modification and are offered for a total of $300 at a Panasonic Authorized Service Center.) New Upgrades over the AG-AC160 The AG-AC160A is an upgraded version of the AG-AC160. The upgrade consists of the addition of 1080/60p and 50p recording (max. And one-push auto focus affords the option of very quickly attaining focus in circumstances requiring on-the-go focusing Panasonic Optical Technology The high-performance 22x zoom lens was designed specifically for professional HD video production. Sharing the wide-angle capability found in the DVX and HMC series, the lens offers some additional telephoto capability for a 28-616mm (35mm equivalent) zoom range. The lens combines 18 elements in 12 groups and adds an ultra-high refractive (UHR) glass element, a low-dispersion element, and aspheric elements ?? techn Read More

The Panasonic AG-HMC40 is a camcorder designed to record in high definition on standard SecureDigital (SD) and SDHC memory cards. ...The camera is extremely portable and lightweight, weighing in at just over 2 lbs. While SD-based camcorders have been gaining ground in the consumer market, the AG-HMC40 has the ability to record AVCHD images at significantly higher bitrates. This enhancement makes the camera more efficient than comparable HD interframe codecs, such as HDV and XDCAM EX. Using H.264 as its compression algorithm the camera can record incredibly detailed images at a fraction of the file size. The handle is detachable and can hold an optional XLR audio system. Note! XLR option not included. 3MOS Sensor Technology The progressive 3MOS image sensors record full-HD images with an effective motion-picture resolution of 2.51-megapixels. This produces full-raster HD images with high resolution and superb image quality. Because each of the three separate image sensors receives one of the three primary colors of light (red, green and blue), they render more precise images and more faithful colors than the single light-receiving 1MOS sensor. Sharp Rendering With a lens that features 13 elements in 10 groups, the newly developed Leica Dicomar is ideal for full-HD recording. The new lens system uses low-dispersion glass and aspherical lenses to reduce color aberration and boost resolution. Use of a special multi-coating process dramatically reduces flare and ghosts. The result is a sharp, crisp, beautifully rendered picture with vivid colors, delicate nuances, and exceptional shading. 120x Digital Zoom Even at the 490mm zoom setting (35mm lens equivalent), this advanced 12x optical zoom lens is free of image degradation. Additionally, the AG-HMC40 is also equipped with a digital zoom that instantly magnifies the image by any of three fixed values. 2x, 5x or 10x. Use it together with the 12x optical zoom lens and you get super magnification equivalent to a 120x zoom, without the drop in light intensity that happens when using a lens extender. Optical Image Stabilization Because the hand-shake correction is done by actually driving the lens, there's none of the image degradation that occurs with electronic stabilization. You can capture beautiful, high-quality shots even in situations where hand-shake is typically a big problem such as when zooming, shooting indoors in dim lighting, or shooting outdoors at night. Dynamic Range Stretch A gamma curve and knee slope are estimated to match the contrast of each pixel, and applied in real time. When dark, bright, and intermediate shades are all contained in the same scene, this produces excellent gradation for each shade and minimizes blocked shadows and blown highlights. The images that result are enhanced by a visually wider dynamic range. High-quality 10.6 MegaPixel Digital Stills The new 3MOS sensors also combine with Panasonic's proprietary Quad-Density Pixel Distribution technology to achieve a resolution that is equivalent to 4 times the normal level. The AG-HMC40 captures still images with approx. 10.6-megapixel resolution (in still image mode, 3:2 aspect ratio), which approaches the level of a high-performance digital still camera. For example, you can use it to shoot both motion and still images for a website. Cine-Like Gamme Curves Drawing on technologies developed for the VariCam HD camcorders for digital cinema, Panasonic has equipped the AG-HMC40 with advanced gamma functions that address seven different shooting scenarios and enhance your creative abilities. This includes the cine-like gamma, which produces the character Read More

The camcorder features both an OLED viewfinder, and a 3.5inch IPS LCD view screen. The lens has built-in manual focus, zoom, and iris rings, providing manual control in addition to the servo control of zoom, and auto focus and iris functions. Taking a page from the larger shoulder mount rigs, the camera features a front mounted audio input, for a camera-mounted mic, and a rear mounted audio XLR input for a second microphone. Audio level controls are at the rear of the camera, however, a second audio level control for the front XLR input is located towards the front of the camera, making it easy to adjust the level on that mic while shooting hand held. Even though it is designed as a compact hand held camcorder, the AJ-PX270 features connections that let you easily integrated it into multi-camera shoots with large shoulder mounted cameras. First, it features Timecode in and out, and a Genlock in connector, so it can connect to a switcher for live multi-camera shoots. It features a 3G-SDI output for integrating into an SDI infrastructure, and output 1920 x 1080p 60 video from the camera. The HDMI output allows you to monitor on lower cost consumer monitors. The camera features a USB 3.0 connector, with USB Host capabilities, a USB 2.0, and a LAN port. It also features built-in networking protocols that allow you to wirelessly transfer your files when using optional USB dongles. Sensor The 3MOS sensor features 2.2 MP resolution, providing 1920 x 1080p images at up to 60 FPS. It features two menu settings, the default setting and the High Sensitivity setting, which acts a gain boost with noise reduction, providing a cleaner image than just using the gain funtion. Signal Processing The camera features: Dynamic Range Stretch (DRS) Advanced Flash Band Compensation (FBC): that compensates for dark areas in the frame that can occur when a still flash goes off, the FBC, adjusts the image to minimize the appearance of the dark areas. Gamma Modes: the camera features 7 x user selectable Gamma modes - HD, SD, FILMLIKE 1, FILMLIKE 2, FILMLIKE 3, FILM-REC, VIDEO-REC 12 Axis Matrix Control + 3 skin tone: Provides a 12 axis color control of you image, with 3 skin tones control, so you can isolate and adjust your colors precisely, and protect your skin tones. Lens The 22x optical zoom lens has a 35mm focal length equivalent of 28 to 616mm, so you have the focal range from wide to long covered. It features Optical image Stabilization (OIS), which is necessary when handholding with a long lens. The lens also features individual lens control rings for zoom, focus, and iris. This enables manual control of your lens (in addition to servo), that is similar to the control you get on full sized shoulder mount cameras. Fram Read More

A compact flash unit is included with the camera, matching the style and color of the body, and providing a GN of 23' (7m) at ISO 100. The lightweight, compact body features both an electronic viewfinder and a rear LCD screen. The high-density 2,764k-dot viewfinder lets you confidently frame your shots, even in bright outdoor environments. Delivering approximately 100% of the Adobe RGB color space, the viewfinder accurately reproduces hues, so you know what you see is what you're capturing. The rear 3.0inch screen is also available, with a 921k-dot resolution. Additionally, built-in Wi-Fi connectivity with NFC allows remote camera control and image sharing from linked mobile devices using the Panasonic Image App. 4/3inch Type MOS Sensor The LX100 features a 4/3inch-sized MOS image sensor - similar in size to the sensors found in Panasonic's interchangeable lens mirrorless Micro Four Thirds cameras.
