Klutz is a publishing company that releases children's how-to books on arts-and-crafts projects, magic tricks, and other activities for kids. The company was founded in 1977 by three friends: John Cassidy, Darrell Lorentzen, and B.C. Rimbeaux. The three friends started off juggli... Read Moreng on the street and got the idea to write a how-to book on juggling. In 2001 Klutz introduced a line of educational products. Scholastic Inc. acquired Klutz in 2002. The Klutz credo is: Create wonderful things, be good, have fun. Klutz's books, such as the original Juggling for the Complete Klutz, feature not only a story but also the equipment needed to do the activity. The juggling book comes with juggling beanbags attached in a mesh bag. The Klutz Yo-Yo Book comes with a yo-yo, and the face-painting book comes with paint and everything else a kid needs to give face painting a try. Some of Klutz's other books focus on window painting, paper airplanes, drawing, jewelry, paper flowers, and soap bubbles. The company also sells refills such as extra paint, pipe cleaners, tape, and other supplies for craft projects.
