Offering 10-bit, 1080p, XAVC recording and a 25x zoom lens with 26mm wide-angle, the Sony PXW-X160 XDCAM Handheld Camcorder is ide...al for a wide-range of applications, including professional broadcast, documentary, and live event work. The camcorder provides the same video recording quality and body design as the PXW-X180 but forgoes the network, GPS, and proxy recording features to deliver a more cost-effective option for shooters who don't need these features. Its three 1/3inch Exmor CMOS sensors provide low noise, wide dynamic range, and support 1080p video at up to 60 fps using the XAVC Intra and XAVC Long GOP codecs. It also offers MPEG HD 422, MPEG HD 420, AVCHD, and DV codecs to fit into existing broadcast and production workflows. Other key features of the camcorder include a 0.5inch OLED viewfinder, dual SxS memory card slots, and an electronically controlled variable ND filter. Additionally, it features a Multi-Interface Shoe that has an electronic interface that allows it to communicate and accept signals from optional accessories, such as the UWP-D11 or UWP-D12 wireless microphone receivers, without requiring an XLR cable or additional power source. Three 1/3inch Exmor CMOS Sensors Three 1/3inch Exmor CMOS sensors with a total of about 2.07 million effective pixels (16:9) independently capture red, blue, and green light. This, combined with the camcorder's Full HD 1920x1080 resolution, high-sensitivity, and wide dynamic range, delivers vibrant images with accurate color rendition. Noise reduction and anti-shake is provided to assure high image quality in a variety on shooting conditions. Sony G Lens with 25x Optical Zoom The Sony G lens has a 25x zoom range with a 35mm equivalent focal length range of 26mm to 650mm. This makes the lens versatile enough to handle a wide range of shooting situations from wide-angle to telephoto. Independent manual, zoom, and focus rings with end-stop and iris control are provided, and a slide mechanism on the focus ring enables easy switching between auto and manual focusing. The focus indicator can be displayed even when focusing manually. XAVC Intra and XAVC Long GOP Recording XAVC technology is based on the efficient and high-quality H.264 standard. XAVC Intra using intra-frame compression, meaning that every frame is encoded independent of the other frames. This provides a better quality picture, but requires a higher bit-rate. With a Long GOP codec, only certain frames are encoded individually. This allows the codec to squeeze the video into a much smaller bitrate than Intra technology. XAVC Long GOP files require less storage space than XAVC Intra files. When recording in XAVC, it uses the MXF file format, efficiently compressing Full HD 1920x1080 resolution using the MPEG-4 AVC/H.264 codec. Image sampling is 4:2:2 10-bit with Intra-frame compression at 112 Mbps or high-efficiency Long-GOP compression at 50 Mbps, 35 Mbps, or 25 Mbps. In addition to XAVC Intra/Long GOP, the PXW-X160 records in MPEG HD 422 at 50 Mbps, MPEG HD 420 at 35 Mbps, AVCHD, and DV. Dual SxS Memory Card Slots The PXW-X160 features two SxS memory card slots offering high read and write speeds. Optional adapters are available which allow recording to your existing XQD or SD memory cards. Simultaneous recording onto two memory cards is possible (in the same recording mode only). With two record buttons, the operator can choose which card to record to, letting you use one card for recording while the other card serves as a backup. Continuous relay recording is also possible from the card in the A slot to the card in the B slot. Note: In AVCHD recording mode, simultaneous recording and relay recording between the two memo Read More

Sony's PXW-X70 Professional XDCAM Compact Camcorder is about the same size as a conventional 1/3inch professional compact camcorde...r, but it features a 1inch type sensor, which is larger than a super-16 sized sensor and more than eight times the size of a 1/3inch sensor. The larger Exmor R sensor size provides for more cinematic appearing depth of field than a 1/3inch sensor is capable of and features a back-side illuminated design for improved low light performance. It features an integrated 12x optical zoom lens with a manual lens ring for zoom/focus control, and a three level switchable ND filter. The camera records HD video using the XAVC Long-GOP codec with 4:2:2, 10-bit color sampling at 50 Mb/second, providing footage with a high data rate that is suitable for broadcast applications. Sony's Slow Quick Motion is built-into the camera. The camera features two SD card slots, allowing simultaneous and relay recording, and both a 3G-SDI and an HDMI output. The camera supports control via Wi-Fi using smartphones or tablets and the optional Content Browser Mobile application. Planned upgrades will allow the camera to record in 4K UHD as well as add file transfer and streaming via Wi-Fi. The 1inch type sensor features 14.2 million effective pixels on a sensor that is more than 8 times larger than a 1/3inch type sensor. The larger size of the pixels allows them to gather more light compared to a 1/3inch sensor. The Exmor R designation indicates the sensor features a back-side illuminated design, which allows more light to reach the sensor's photosites for increased light sensitivity and less noise in low light conditions. The camera is capable fo recording using Sony's Slow Quick motion, which allows you to shoot at selectable frame rates (1, 2, 4, 8, 15, 30, 60 / 1, 2, 3, 6, 12, 25, 50.) The integrated 12x optical zoom lens incorporates a three-level switchable ND filter, with 24x clear Image Zoom technology that retains the quality of the HD image, and a digital extender allows you to zoom up to 48x. Multiple recording choices are available depending on application, including XAVC, AVCHD, and DV file-based recording. The PXW-X70 records in CAVC using the MXF file format, which efficiently compresses full HD (1920 x 1080) resolution using the MPEG-4 AVC/H.264 CODEC. Color sampling is 4:2:2 10-bit with high-efficiency Long-GOP compression at 50 Mbps, 35 Mbps, or 25 Mbps for broadcast quality images. Supporting Near Field Communication functions, the camera allows easy, one-touch wireless LAN connection to a smartphone or tablet, while the Content Browser Mobile application allows confirmation of shot angles and operation of the camcorder by remote, including spot focus and iris adjustment. Ready for anything Perhaps you're a videographer for a major corporation, set to document the next industry trade show. Or you're... a local journalist cruising City Hall for the next blockbuster exclusive interview. You might even be a graduate film school student, storyboarding your first major short subject for the festival circuit. While all of these people face different challenges, it's a pretty sure bet the Canon XA20 high-definition camcorder can help each of them to deliver a final product that shines. Lightweight, compact, and remarkably easy to handle on the move, the XA20 even borrows some brilliant features from the consumer camcorder world, like the enhanced functionality that Wi-Fi offers. Features pros demand The removable handle on this camcorder conceals a world of audio versatility. Two XLR-connectors provide phantom-powered connections for professional microphones, and on the other side of the handle's control block, dedicated switches and audio pots allow you to assign and regulate the signals coming from both external and internal audio sources. The handle also features a mount for a shotgun microphone (not included). Designed for easy control The zoom rocker switch has been upgraded to match the performance that's only been available on Canon's top-level camcorders in the past. That controls a versatile and light-thirsty 20X optical zoom lens that gives you all the reach you need for quick-changing assignments. If your light levels drop to near zero, there's a built-in infrared (IR) emitter that will allow you to still capture images under challenging conditions. And buttons on the side of the camcorder are assignable, so if, say, your white balance conditions — or your sensitivity settings — keep changing, you'll be able to adjust instantly. The format you need, when you need it The XA20 can capture video in two formats, high-quality AVCHD and web-friendly MP4, and it can even do so simultaneously to the camcorder's dual memory card slots. The maximum data rates for both formats (28 megabits per second for AVCHD; 35 Mbps for MP4) allow the XA20 to record at a full 1080/60p resolution, in addition to several other resolutions — a cinematic 24p-native frame rate among them. When those capture modes are played back at different speeds, you can achieve slow-motion playback as slow as 40% of normal speed, and fast-motion as fast as 250% of normal, with no degradation of picture quality. Wi-Fi® features Built-in Wi-Fi makes this already capable camera more convenient. Share files easily between devices. Control your XA20 from a laptop, tablet, or smartphone. And easily upload your videos for sharing with family, friends, or social networks — a process made much easier by the fact that the camcorder performs internal downconversion of your high-quality videos to make them small enough to post easily online. In fact, if you're under the gun for a tight filing deadline on-air or online, step down the data rate of your MP4 capture and upload your raw video directly to an FTP site for fast turnaround from remote locations. See even more of what your camcorder is seeing The Canon XA20 sports an upgraded monitoring system. Its generous 3-1/2inch organic LED (OLED) touchscreen display brings 1.23-million dots worth of high-contrast resolution to bear to reveal even the tiniest details in your image. Plus, the tiltable electronic viewfinder allows you a 1.56-million dot view of the world, for even finer control of your camera when handheld and zoomed-in. And to make those zoomed-in moments even more stable, Canon has added what it calls SuperRange optical image stabilization, which corrects for erratic motion almost instantly, ensuring that even lon Read More

Canon's XF100 HD Professional Camcorder is an amazingly compact, fully featured pro video camera that imports nearly all the featu...res and functionality of the 3-chip XF300 into a smaller, single sensor form factor. Taking advantage of the latest HD technology--along with Canon's robust MPEG-2 4:2:2 codec--the XF100 records full HD video to affordable Compact Flash cards, making it as versatile as it is powerful. A newly developed Genuine Canon 10x HD video lens resolves images onto a native 1920 x 1080 CMOS sensor, which are captured in industry-standard MXF file wrappers using your choice of bit rate (up to 50Mbps), resolution, and frame rate. Full image customization and HDMI/Component/Composite outputs are equally on par with the camera's big brother XF300. But not content with simple inchjunior partnerinch status, the XF100 brings some of its own muscle to the table in the form of infrared recording and--when used in combination with another XF100 or XF105--3-D stereoscopic capability. This fusion of exceptional image quality with portability and pinpoint control makes the XF100 the perfect low-profile tool for a range of applications, including ENG, travel documentaries, indie features, and event videography. MPEG-2 4:2:2 50Mbps Codec (Canon XF Codec) Canon's adaptation of MPEG-2 for the XF100 Professional Camcorder, named the Canon XF Codec, ensures the widest compatibility with existing industry infrastructure and non-linear editing (NLE) systems. And by using an MXF file wrapper, video and audio can be wrapped in a single file along with important metadata. The XF100 supports the highest HD quality with Full HD 1920x1080 resolution, up to a 50Mbps bit rate and 4:2:2 color sampling. 4:2:2 Color Sampling 4:2:2 color sampling provides twice the color resolution of HDV and other codecs that use 4:2:0 color sampling. 4:2:2 provides ultra-fine transitions in tone and color and maintains the highest quality image for use in post production processes such as chroma keying, color grading, advanced compositing and effects. Record to Compact Flash Cards Unlike other camcorders using proprietary memory systems, the XF100 records to cost effective and readily available Compact Flash (CF) cards. The camcorder features two CF card slots and offers versatile recording functions including relay recording, hot swapping, file copy backup, and pre-record. File-based recording facilitates workflow by reducing transfer times when moving video to nonlinear editing (NLE) systems. Additionally, metadata can be input at image acquisition, and imagery may be reviewed immediately after recording to ensure every shot is captured and logged correctly. Major NLE Software Compatibility Canon's XF Codec is supported by the industry's leading manufacturers: Adobe, Apple, Avid and Grass Valley. This ensures the widest compatibility with existing infrastructure and non-linear editing (NLE) software. MXF Wrapper The XF100 uses Material Exchange Format (MXF) for its file structure--an internationally standardized container format for the exchange of video and audio material. Using the MXF format, video and audio can be wrapped into a single file along with important metadata. With MXF, the XF100 will not only benefit from the highest level of compatibility with NLE systems, but also with high-end network systems used by many networks and production studios. Genuine Canon 10x HD Lens Canon's optical expertise is clearly seen in the XF100's Genuine Canon 10x HD Video Lens. It delivers flexibility in image capture with a zoom range of 30.4 - 304mm (35mm equivalent). Power zoom is available in Constant and Variable settings in 3 modes: Fast (approx. 1.9 - 60 Read More

The Panasonic AG-HMC40 is a camcorder designed to record in high definition on standard SecureDigital (SD) and SDHC memory cards. ...The camera is extremely portable and lightweight, weighing in at just over 2 lbs. While SD-based camcorders have been gaining ground in the consumer market, the AG-HMC40 has the ability to record AVCHD images at significantly higher bitrates. This enhancement makes the camera more efficient than comparable HD interframe codecs, such as HDV and XDCAM EX. Using H.264 as its compression algorithm the camera can record incredibly detailed images at a fraction of the file size. The handle is detachable and can hold an optional XLR audio system. Note! XLR option not included. 3MOS Sensor Technology The progressive 3MOS image sensors record full-HD images with an effective motion-picture resolution of 2.51-megapixels. This produces full-raster HD images with high resolution and superb image quality. Because each of the three separate image sensors receives one of the three primary colors of light (red, green and blue), they render more precise images and more faithful colors than the single light-receiving 1MOS sensor. Sharp Rendering With a lens that features 13 elements in 10 groups, the newly developed Leica Dicomar is ideal for full-HD recording. The new lens system uses low-dispersion glass and aspherical lenses to reduce color aberration and boost resolution. Use of a special multi-coating process dramatically reduces flare and ghosts. The result is a sharp, crisp, beautifully rendered picture with vivid colors, delicate nuances, and exceptional shading. 120x Digital Zoom Even at the 490mm zoom setting (35mm lens equivalent), this advanced 12x optical zoom lens is free of image degradation. Additionally, the AG-HMC40 is also equipped with a digital zoom that instantly magnifies the image by any of three fixed values. 2x, 5x or 10x. Use it together with the 12x optical zoom lens and you get super magnification equivalent to a 120x zoom, without the drop in light intensity that happens when using a lens extender. Optical Image Stabilization Because the hand-shake correction is done by actually driving the lens, there's none of the image degradation that occurs with electronic stabilization. You can capture beautiful, high-quality shots even in situations where hand-shake is typically a big problem such as when zooming, shooting indoors in dim lighting, or shooting outdoors at night. Dynamic Range Stretch A gamma curve and knee slope are estimated to match the contrast of each pixel, and applied in real time. When dark, bright, and intermediate shades are all contained in the same scene, this produces excellent gradation for each shade and minimizes blocked shadows and blown highlights. The images that result are enhanced by a visually wider dynamic range. High-quality 10.6 MegaPixel Digital Stills The new 3MOS sensors also combine with Panasonic's proprietary Quad-Density Pixel Distribution technology to achieve a resolution that is equivalent to 4 times the normal level. The AG-HMC40 captures still images with approx. 10.6-megapixel resolution (in still image mode, 3:2 aspect ratio), which approaches the level of a high-performance digital still camera. For example, you can use it to shoot both motion and still images for a website. Cine-Like Gamme Curves Drawing on technologies developed for the VariCam HD camcorders for digital cinema, Panasonic has equipped the AG-HMC40 with advanced gamma functions that address seven different shooting scenarios and enhance your creative abilities. This includes the cine-like gamma, which produces the characteristic warm t Read More

And because the GH4 is a global camera, the system frequency can be switched between 59.94 Hz (23.98 Hz) and 50 Hz, yielding a variety of recording options including 23.98p, 25p, 29.97p, 50p, and 59.94p. The system can also be switched to 24 Hz to capture true 24p in HD and 4K resolutions. Video and photos are recorded to SD/SDHC/SDXC memory cards. Video recorded to SD cards is 4:2:0 8-bit. Real-time 4:2:2 8-bit and 4:2:2 10-bit video can also be sent to an external monitor or recorder with an optional micro HDMI cable. Additional video features include focus peaking, time code support, and cine-like gamma options. For unique expressions, VBR (Variable Frame Rate), time lapse, and stop motion animation videos can be recording internally without the need for additional post-production processing. The GH4 comes with a rechargeable lithium-ion battery pack, battery charger with AC cable, body cap, hot shoe cover, USB cable, shoulder strap, and DVD with supplied software. 16.05 Megapixel Digital Live MOS Sensor and Venus Engine The 16.05-megapixel Digital Live MOS sensor delivers high-quality images with high sensitivity and quick response times. The increased signal speed readout helps to suppress the effects of rolling shutter. In conjunction with the quad-core Venus Engine image processor, you'll enjoy dramatically improved sensitivity (maximum ISO 25600), gradation performance, resolution, and color reproduction. Micro Four Thirds Sensor and Lens Mount The DMC-GH4's Micro Four Thirds sized sensor is large enough for shallow depth of field and yet small enough to take advantage of lighter, more compact lenses than a larger format camera would require. Plus, the short flange focal distance of the Micro Four Thirds Lens Mount makes it possible to add optional adapters (sold separately) to use a wide range of lenses, including PL-mount cinema lenses. Dual OLED Displays - Monitor and Live View Finder High-speed, organic LED displays are used for both the Live View Finder and the rear monitor. The 3.0inch monitor features a 1,036K-dot resolution, while the LVF features a 2,359K-dot resolution. These displays feature 100% coverage and a 10,000:1 contrast ratio. An Eye Sensor automatically switches between the Live View-Finder and the rear monitor, for easy shooting with both. Magnesium Alloy, Weather Sealed Body The DMC-GH4 features a magnesium alloy full die cast front and rear frame. A splash and dustproof design is achieved by tightly sealing the joints and control components. To further meet the demands of professional use, the shutter is rated for approximately 200,000 releases. Wi-Fi with NFC Technology The DMC-GH4 integrates Wi-Fi connectivity with NFC, letting you use the Panasonic Image App for Read More
