It's easy to buy all the cute outfits you see. But your little one will grow quickly, so purchase only what she needs. For full-term babies, that means undershirts, bodysuits, infant gowns, and sleepers suitable for 3-, 6-, and 9-month-old infants. (Early arrivals will need 0- to-3-month clothing and, in some cases, preemie outfits.) For toddlers, focus on easy-to-clean items (including shoes) that can stand up to your active child. When your children are ready for "big kid" clothes, let them help pick things that suit their tastes.
