The crotch anchor, located on the bottom of the seat, was installed incorrectly. It could become dislodged during a crash, allowing a child to travel up the seat back and causing the seat back to break, possibly causing a serious injury.
The recall includes 1,223 Compass I420 Infant car seats manufactured on May 7, 2006, May 13, 2006, and May 15, 2006. The model number and date of manufacture can be found on a label on the lower back of the car seat. The recall includes the following model numbers:
