The Danger:
If the child weighs more than 50 pounds and the car manufacturer allows use of the top tether for weights above 50 pounds, then in the event of a crash, the top tether hook may open, releasing it from the tether anchor. This may cause the child to move forward, posing a risk of injury.
Description:
The recall includes Britax Marathon car seats with the following model numbers, manufactured from May 23, 2006, through July 28, 2006. The date of manufacturer and model number may be found on the white label located near the top of the car seat on the child's left side under the cover.

The top tether is from lot number KGR 01 A, which can be found on the metal hook of the tether.
