Stages of Pregnancy Week by Week

What My Baby Looks Like in Week 30

Discover your baby's fetal developments in week 30 -- right now he may be dreaming.

Your baby is about the size of an eggplant and now weighs just under 3 pounds. Fetal REM activity occurs at this stage indicating distinct sleep and wake cycles. Your baby may spend much of the time sleeping but his or her sleep cycle is not necessarily timed with yours. Brain monitoring studies indicate that as your baby sleeps there is a good chance that dreaming occurs. Your baby may now open, close and blink his or her eyes. Your baby's vision is still rather poor at this stage and will remain so for a few months after delivery.
