Stages of Pregnancy Week by Week

What My Baby Looks Like in Week 20

Discover how baby-to-be is developing in week 20, and whether it's a boy or a girl. At this point, gender can be detected on an ultrasound.

The developing fetus is getting bigger each day and is now about 10 inches tall or about the size of a carrot. Gender can often be determined by ultrasound at this stage. Fetal kicks may be much more prominent at this stage. You may now feel many of these movements, which are often described initially as feeling like butterflies in your stomach.
