Stages of Pregnancy Week by Week

What My Baby Looks Like in Week 12

You may notice your pregnancy belly starting to form in week 12, and you can see in the photo that inside the womb your baby is growing, too.

The fetus is beginning to demonstrate reflexes like grasping, sucking and even hiccups, although these activities are not yet able to be felt by the mother. Now weighing approximately ½ ounce, the developing fetus is about the size of a key lime. Your uterus is now about the size of a small melon and has begun to move forward towards your navel. This may cause your belly to protrude.
