Walking Late in Pregnancy

Keep walking through the end of your third trimester if you can!

If you've walked your way through to week 39, there's no reason to stop now. Keep walking right up into labor if you can. It will continue to tone your muscles, help stabilize blood sugar, strengthen your heart and lungs, improve your mood, and give you a fabulous sense of accomplishment. Continue to drink plenty of fluids and plan walking routes that give you ample opportunities to stop for bathroom breaks. If you tire easily, avoid hills and take several shorter walks rather than one long walk.
