Snacks During Labor

Try to eat a few light snacks and drink fluids while you're still laboring at home.

While laboring at home, keep up your energy with very light snacks such as fruit, toast, crackers, or soup. Once you get to the hospital you may not be permitted to eat. You probably won't want to anyway because labor can make you nauseous. You may even vomit, which is reason enough to keep snacks on the light side at home. Continue to drink fluids when you are laboring at home.
