Feeling Light-Headed

Stay hydrated and keep snacks handy if you experience frequent light-headedness.

No, you're not imagining it. When you move quickly from lying or sitting to standing, you may occasionally feel light-headed. Although it can be alarming to stand up and have to sit right back down because you feel a little dizzy, don't worry: Light-headedness is very common in pregnancy, particularly in tall women and women with hypoglycemia, or low blood sugar. Light-headedness has several causes: dehydration, hunger, and low blood sugar. Drink plenty of water and eat something every couple of hours to chase away hunger pangs and keep blood sugar stable. Avoid making any sudden moves; dangle your legs over the side of your bed before standing.
