"I'm Pregnant, World!"

Have you shared the good news? Now may be the perfect time to let the world know a baby is on the way!

Many women share the news of their pregnancy around week 12, when miscarriage risk has gone down. If you're not quite ready to shout it from the rooftops, you can probably wait longer, because you won't start to show for a few more weeks. If this is your first pregnancy and you're of average height and weight, you can probably continue to hide your growing belly until week 20 or so.

Why wait? Well, once your friends, family, coworkers, and neighbors know you're pregnant, they'll want to talk about it and ask you an array of questions. Do you know if it's a boy or a girl? Are you going to quit work? What names do you have picked out? Have you had an amniocentesis? And so on. If you're not ready to answer all those questions, waiting a few weeks is the way to go.
