Common Pregnancy Dreams and What's Really Behind Them
Although everyone dreams every night, the dreams of pregnant women tend to be packed with emotion -- a reflection of the dramatic life changes she's about to undergo.
Remember that dreams have no bearing on reality. Feelings of ambivalence -- about motherhood, your changing role, and new responsibilities -- are normal. Just because you have these feelings doesn't mean you don't want to have a baby. Acknowledging your feelings (even the negative ones) and doubts will help you work through them in a more productive way. Your dreams can also be a good way to open up a dialogue with your spouse. "I had the craziest dream, and I think what I'm really worried about is..." Getting your fears out in the open is the best way to over come them.
Here are six of the most common images and subject matters for dreams, and what they might mean, according to Hillary Grill, coauthor of Dreaming for Two (Dutton, 2002).

I had a dream that the chick-fil-a cows were in a gang and were taking over the town I live in. They were breaking into peoples houses and chasing us down the street. To get away from them we ran into a house, went down the escalator (yeah crazy) and right into the river at the bottom of the escalator. From their we floated down the river in canons smoking cigarettes. One crazy dream!

7/28/2011 11:31:12 AM Report AbuseI find out next ultrasound if its a boy or girl, yayy!! *crosses fingers for a girl* Before I read this I was worried that the cheating dreams I was having were actually happening, now I feel a lot better and not as worried. ...but I will still keep an eye out, as he has messed up before.

5/12/2011 05:00:40 PM Report Abuseomg yes... i have the craziest dreams! this is my first pregnancy and my dream was about me and my fiancee getting ready to go out with friends for the weekend and i forgot my suitcase and then we ended up getting attacked by the worlds most poison filled snaked and i had to run back in fear to get one of my sharpest knives and then killed it and then strangely it turned into a dog

3/31/2011 11:35:32 AM Report Abuse1st pregnancy- I had a dream that the baby poked his head out of my belly button, looked around and went back in.. Than a couple days later (in the same dream still) I gave birth to him completely through my belly button.
3/24/2011 08:57:40 PM Report Abuse2nd pregnancy-I was going to take the intelligender test one night and it said for best results to wait for the first mornings urine. So I did just that. But during the night I had a dream the half of the urine was green (boy) and the other half was orange (girl), in my dream meaning I was having twin, one boy & one girl. Than I also had another dream the same night where I gave birth to my fraternal twins and after those 2 came out babies kept coming out! Weird right.

Sometimes a girl but most of the time a boy. The next thing the dream changes once I realize it was my baby and started to be it's mother. And the strange part of it is that I was not even pregnant and was on birth control at the time.

Except this time it was only a few of them instead of a bunch of them when I was up in the mountains.

I had so much fun, but I was a little concerned about the houses built so high up in the mountains. Then I started getting this weird ickly feeling towards my lower back and hind legs. There were slugs crawling up all over me. I had to peel them off one by one and was grossed out by it.
1/20/2011 12:55:46 PM Report AbuseI have had a few dreams about a hipo trying to step on my stomach...It was so scary that I woke up holding my belly and crying because I thought that the hipo was going to kill my baby. What does things like that mean?? I have had 3 miscarriages. Do you think maybe I am just scared I will loose this one too>??

In one i give birth to something like a little vampire girl or monster, not ugly just not human, and i dont remember all the details just that there is blood and it is scary. In the other, I give birth to a perfectly healthy baby girl. I really dont get it, but im going to assume it still falls within the range of normal.

The design of the dress was so accurate in my dream that it felt real and the details were great. Well a week later I took a pregnancy test and it was positive. The second dream I had that week was about two baby girls. That's scary because I don't think I am ready for twins, however whatever God blesses me with I will be happy.

I got pregnant for the first time and in nov 4th I had my first ultra sound and 2 days later I had a dream that ppl were trying to make me abort and after that I started spotting so I went to the doctor and he gave me the worse news ever that my baby didn't make it and then they did a D&C after that my back started hurting so I told a massager to come and he asked did u fall,or had a dream or some thing I said yes and he said dreams some times warn u

I am only 7 weeks along on this baby... I'm interested if i will have any weird dreams
4/22/2010 09:43:00 PM Report Abuseoh my god!!!!!!!!! i've had the dream where i gave birth and i had to put my baby back in and my mom was standing there telling me "hey, do it this way, just cut your stomach open from your bellybutton, it's sooo much easier that way i promise!" i whined "i don't want to put her back! do i have to?" but i kept trying because i knew she was better off in there for a while. im so glad im not alone on this dream. thank you so much!
