I gained 60+ pounds with my first child not paying attention to my weight and end up delieving vaginally to a 10 lbs baby. Big babies run in my family but I believe if I had watched my weight my daughter would not still have the weight problems she has now at 3.

As part of the prenatal visit checklist, there are three items related to weight. I totally disagree with this approach and think that placing undue emphasis on weight is unhealthy and creates unnecessary anxiety. How much weight "should" I gain--I mean, seriously?! Women don't need them staring that number staring them in the face after every prenatal visit. The only thing they should be "worried" about is if they and their baby are healthy. --Concerned reader
