Question

I am 14 weeks pregnant with twins. I have morning sickness all day and all night. I am afraid that my unborn babies are not getting the nutrition that they need. What can I do?

Answer

This is not uncommon with twins. This early in pregnancy, the babies are getting the nutrition that they need. I have one patient who lost 40 pounds and delivered a 9-pound baby. There is no cure, but morning sickness will improve with time.

There are several medications that can improve your symptoms. Some options may include Phenergan, Tigan, and Reglan. Talk with your doctor.
