Introduction

Many expectant moms look forward to a beautiful childbirth. But what happens if you need a c-section? Two things are for sure: Your birth experience will not be as warm and intimate as you may have imagined, and your body will need more time to recover than if you had a vaginal birth. But in the grand scheme of parenthood, these are minor things; the c-section has the desired effect of delivering your baby safely into your arms. Here's the lowdown on having a c-section.

i have so many questions for those of you who had a vaginal and a c-section. This is my first, and i truelly believe a c-section is for me. But just how bad is the recovery???? I just seem to believe that is is way better than having my girly parts ripped up.

I will be having a scheduled c-section during the first week of November; I had a unscheduled c-section with my son almost ten tears ago. I want to get it done and over with. I hope the pain is not too bad and recovery is not too complicared.

I was 10 days past my due date with my son and was induced. I ended up having a c-section. I don't regret it one bit. I had a planned c-section with my daughter and am now having my 3rd child via c-section. Honestly I don't know why so many people are against it. As long as baby and mom are doing well it doesn't matter how baby comes into this world. My experiences have been wonderful and I agree with soldier.w5, I would rather have a c-section any day over a vaginal birth.

I just had my 5th child the 2nd of June. My doctor said I shouldn't have any more kids because it was dangerous. It had something to do with my placenta, that it was hard to be taken out. It was my 1st c-section and I had 4 kids before. The doctor said I could bleed to death. Is there something I can do or take so that I can fix my problem? just in case I decide to have another child.

I just went through my 3rd c-section 9 days ago...all was different. Is it true that after you have 3 you can longer have anymore or you will die?

I've had both 2 vaginal and 1 c-section. Now I'm 15 wks pg, and to be very honest I would much rather have this one vaginal then C-section, but since I can no longer handle any kind of pain, I've decided that having 2 shots in my back is probably worth it especially since it's been 8 years. I'm super excited and can't wait for OCT to come. Congrats to all. And the best of wishes!

after giving birth 10yrs ago through c-section i now know what to expect for our second child..Having a scheduled c-section actually makes me feel less worried..i don't have to worry about labor pains. A c-section is really not bad at all it's a very small and thin incision. i rather have that then to rip trying to give vaginal birth...eeeeeet

after mine 3 years ago i was freezing, it took like 10 heated blankets to keep me from shivering, but it was well worth it when they brought my little man in the recovery room

After reading that you are suppose to stay in a hospital for 3-4 days after a normal C-Section this makes me wonder, what in the world my hosptial was thinking. I didn't have any problems (Thank God) after my C-Section, I moved slow for a few days but I didn't have any pain or take any pain meds. A C-Section is not as bad as its sounds, its just not as loving as a regular birth.

This was great information and actually made me laugh a few times. Especially the walk to the bathroom will feel like it's in North Dakota. I feel much more informed & comfortable about my C-Section. Thank You.
