Oh-So-Easy Homemade Stickers

Whether they're putting them on a piece of paper or on themselves, children just adore playing with stickers. Making your own stickers will guarantee that you always have a supply on hand in your house. Here's how:

  • On a large adhesive mailing label (8-x-12 or 5-x-7) draw or trace a variety of small shapes (hearts, stars, circles, animals).
  • Have your child color over the shapes using markers, glitter pens, or crayons.
  • Glue googly eyes to the animals.
  • Cut out the shapes and reapply them to a piece of waxed paper.

Keep a few sheets in your purse so you always have an easy way to entertain your child at a restaurant or in the car.

Stuck for Older Kids?

Grade-schoolers and tweens may be especially interested in creating photo stickers of themselves with their friends, which they can use to personalize mailing labels, lockers, covered books, CDs, etc.

For photos, first cut out the general area of the picture you'll want to end up with. Glue it to the sticker backing; let dry. Then further refine the photo's crop. Unpeel and stick away!
