OFFICIAL CONTEST RULES
Void outside the 50 United States and where prohibited. Do not proceed to enter if you are not at least 21 years of age and a legal resident of, and located within, one of the 50 United States or the District of Columbia at the time of entry.
NO PURCHASE NECESSARY TO ENTER OR WIN. A PURCHASE WILL NOT INCREASE YOUR CHANCES OF WINNING.
CONTEST PERIOD: The It Worked for Me Contest ("Contest") begins at 12:00 a.m. Eastern Time ("E.T.") on 6/1/15 and ends at 11:59 p.m. E.T. on 8/31/15 (the "Contest Period"). The Contest Period will consist of three (3) monthly periods as outlined below. Entries must be received by 11:59 p.m. E.T. on the end dates of the applicable monthly periods to be eligible for such monthly period. Meredith Corporation is the sole sponsor and administrator of this Contest.

HOW TO ENTER: During the Contest Period, visit www.Parents.com/worked-contest and click the Contest button to send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org with your original idea for a clever solution to household/family problems. You may also email your story/idea directly to email@example.com without visiting the website above. Your story must be in written/essay format and be a maximum of 100 words in length. In addition to your idea/story, please include your complete name, full mailing address, daytime phone number, date of birth, city, and state of residence in the body of the email. You will also have the option to attach a photo that displays your story/idea in action. Photos must be 300dpi, minimum 4" wide and .jpeg file, must be recent (taken within one month of date of entry) and taken by entrant or at entrant's direction. Photo must be in either .jpeg or .bmp image format and cannot exceed 3 MB in size. Non-winning entries from each monthly period will be rolled over into the subsequent monthly periods (if any). One (1) monthly prize per household.
Entries must be original (written by entrant), unpublished and may not have won any prize or award. Entries handwritten, fictional, or exceeding the required length may be disqualified. Entries may not contain brand names or trademarks. All entries are final upon submission. Sponsor reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to reject and/or disqualify any entries, subjects, or related materials that Sponsor deems to be obscene, defamatory, profane, offensive, lewd, pornographic, false, misleading, deceptive, or otherwise inconsistent with its editorial standards, audience expectations, or reputational interests or that Sponsor believes may violate any applicable law or regulation or the rights of any third party. Sponsor reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to verify any element of any entry or related materials, request additional information and to disqualify any entrant whose participation may subject the contest, Sponsor, or Sponsor's advertisers, clients, or customers to controversy, negative publicity, scorn, or ridicule.
LIMIT: Five (5) entries per person and per email address, per day. Any attempt by an entrant, or any other person, to obtain more than the stated number of entries by using multiple/different email addresses, identities, registrations, logins, or any other methods may result in disqualification by Sponsor, in its sole discretion.
ELIGIBILITY: Legal residents of the 50 United States, and the District of Columbia, 21 years of age or older are eligible to enter, except employees of Sponsor, and any other organizations affiliated with the sponsorship, fulfillment, administration, prize support, advertisement or promotion of the Contest and/or their respective agents, affiliates, subsidiaries and members of their immediate families or household members. "Immediate family members" shall mean parents, step-parents, children, step-children, siblings, step-siblings, or spouses. "Household members" shall mean people who share the same residence at least three months a year.
WINNER SELECTION: On or about five (5) business days after the end of each monthly period, a qualified panel of judges appointed by Sponsor will select five (5) winners from among all eligible entries received based on originality (50%) and practicality (50%). In the event of a tie, the winning entry from among the tied entries will be the entry with the higher score in the practicality category.
Potential winners will be notified by phone and/or email and may be required to complete an Affidavit of Eligibility, Liability and Publicity Release (unless prohibited by law) and any other documents required by Sponsor, which must be returned within five (5) days of date appearing on prize notification. Return of prize or prize notification as undeliverable, failure to sign and return requested documentation within the specified time period, the inability of Sponsor to contact a potential winner within a reasonable time period or noncompliance with these Official Rules by any potential winner will result in disqualification and, at Sponsor's sole discretion, the prize may be awarded to a runner-up for the applicable monthly period. Prizes will be delivered approximately thirty (30) days from date of winner verification. Decisions of judges are final and binding in all respects.
MONTHLY PRIZES (15) (Five (5) awarded per monthly period): One (1) $50 gift card. (Total retail value of all monthly prizes = $750). Limit one (1) monthly prize per household.
Gift cards may be subject to issuer restrictions. Sponsor reserves the right to substitute a prize (or portions thereof) of equal or greater value if prize (or portions thereof) cannot be awarded as described. Sponsor will determine all elements of prizing in its sole discretion. Prize may not be assigned, transferred, changed or redeemed for cash, except at the sole discretion of Sponsor. Prize is awarded "as is" with no warranty or guarantee express or implied by Sponsor. Sponsor disclaims all and any liability for the actual provision, quality or nature of any third party product or service accepted by the winner. The awarding of any prize is contingent upon full compliance with these Official Rules.
PRIVACY: By entering the Contest, you consent to use of your personal information (including your name, mailing address, and email address) by Sponsor and its authorized agents for the purposes of administering the contest and fulfilling the prizes to the winners. At the time of entry, you will also have the opportunity to request to receive information and offers from Sponsor. LICENSE FOR USE OF ENTRIES: By submitting an Entry, each entrant grants, and represents and warrants that the entrant has the rights and authority necessary to grant, Sponsor an irrevocable, non-exclusive, fully sublicensable license and right to exploit, edit, modify, and distribute the Entry and all elements of such Entry in any and all media now known or hereafter devised, worldwide, in perpetuity without compensation, permission or notification to entrant or any third party.
ARBITRATION: Except where prohibited by law, as a condition of participating in this Contest, participant agrees that: (1) any and all disputes, claims, and causes of action arising out of or connected with this Contest, or any prizes awarded, shall be resolved individually, without resort to any form of class action; and exclusively by final and binding arbitration under the rules of the American Arbitration Association and held at a AAA regional office in New York, NY; (2) the Federal Arbitration Act shall govern the interpretation, enforcement and all proceedings at such arbitration; and (3) judgment upon such arbitration award may be entered in any court having jurisdiction. Under no circumstances will participant be permitted to obtain awards for, and participant hereby waives all rights to claim punitive, incidental or consequential damages including attorney's fees or any other damages, other than for participant's actual out-of-pocket expenses (i.e., costs associated with participating in this Contest), and participant further waives all rights to have damages multiplied or increased.
RELEASES: By participating in this Contest entrants agree to release Sponsor, and any other organizations affiliated with the sponsorship, fulfillment, administration, prize support, advertisement or promotion of the Contest and each of their respective parents, agents, affiliates, subsidiaries, advertising and promotion agencies, and prize suppliers, and each of their respective officers, directors, agents, representatives and employees, as well as each of their respective successors, representatives and assigns (collectively, the "Released Parties") from any and all actions, claims, injury, loss or damage arising in any manner, in whole or in part, directly or indirectly, from participation in this Contest and/or acceptance, use or misuse of any prize.
MISCELLANEOUS: Released Parties are not responsible for lost, late, incomplete, damaged, inaccurate, stolen, undelivered, garbled or misdirected Entries or blog posts; or for lost, interrupted or unavailable network, server, Internet Service Provider (ISP), website, or other connections, availability or accessibility or miscommunications or failed computer, satellite, telephone or cable transmissions, lines, or technical failure or jumbled, scrambled, delayed or misdirected transmissions or computer hardware or software malfunctions, failures or difficulties, or other errors or difficulties of any kind whether human, mechanical, electronic, computer, network, typographical, printing or otherwise relating to or in connection with the Contest, including, without limitation, errors or difficulties which may occur in connection with the administration of the Contest, the processing of Entries or blog posts, the announcement of the prizes, or in any Contest-related materials. Released Parties are also not responsible for any incorrect or inaccurate information, whether caused by site users, tampering, hacking or by any equipment or programming associated with or utilized in the Contest. Released Parties are not responsible for injury or damage to participants' or to any other person's computer related to or resulting from participating in this Contest or downloading materials from or use of the website. Sponsor reserves the right, in its sole discretion to disqualify any person tampering with the entry process, the operation of the web site or otherwise in violation of these Official Rules. Sponsor further reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to cancel, terminate or modify this Contest if the Contest is compromised by virus, technical corruption, non-authorized human intervention, or any other causes which, in the sole discretion of the Sponsor, corrupt or affect the administration, security, fairness, proper play or integrity of the Contest. Sponsor reserves the right in its sole discretion to disqualify any individual it believes has tampered with the entry process. In the event of cancellation or termination, Sponsor reserves the right to select the winners for each applicable monthly period from among all eligible, non-suspect Entries received for the monthly period(s) at issue prior to date of cancellation or termination using the judging criteria specified above. In the event of a dispute regarding online entry, Entry will be deemed made by the authorized account holder of the e-mail account associated with the Entry and he/she must comply with these Official Rules. The "authorized account holder" is the natural person who is assigned the e-mail address by the Internet Service Provider (ISP), on-line service provider, or other organization responsible for assigning email addresses. CAUTION: ANY ATTEMPT TO DELIBERATELY DAMAGE THE WEBSITE OR UNDERMINE THE LEGITIMATE OPERATION OF THIS CONTEST IS A VIOLATION OF CRIMINAL AND CIVIL LAWS, AND SHOULD SUCH AN ATTEMPT BE MADE, SPONSOR WILL DISQUALIFY ANY SUCH INDIVIDUAL AND RESERVES THE RIGHT TO SEEK DAMAGES (INCLUDING ATTORNEYS' FEES (AND OTHER REMEDIES FROM ANY SUCH INDIVIDUAL TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW.
