Girls' Night Out: Host a Wine Tasting Bash

Don't have a winery nearby? DIY! Go pro -- and impress your pals -- with our cool printable score cards.

Throwing a wine-tasting fete at home is a great way to bond with mommy pals. Here's what you need to get the party started:

Four to six wines. Pick one region (like Sonoma, Napa Valley, or Tuscany) or country (Australia or France, for example) to narrow down your choices, and include whites and reds. Your tasting order should be light- to fuller-bodied.

Wineglasses. Each serving should be about two ounces; do a trial run with your glasses beforehand so you can eyeball it.

Ice bucket or individual cups for each guest, to serve as a dump bucket.

Bread or crackers and water to cleanse your palate between tastings. Get really festive with cheese or other light appetizers.

Scoring cards if you want to go all out.
