Supermom alert: Zoe styles stars such as Kate Hudson and Cameron Diaz and gets attention herself thanks to The Rachel Zoe Project, on Bravo. When we caught up with her, she was knee-deep in New York Fashion Week yet eager to talk about life since son Skyler was born.
She'd Have a Second!
"Pregnancy was great. Aside from me having narcolepsy," she jokes. "Birth is not fun, and no one really tells you the nitty-gritty of it. But what you get in return is worth the 'fun' that you go through."
Her Postpartum Fashion Prescription
"Just go dark," the master stylist says. "It always looks dressier than it actually is, even if it's leggings and a jacket. I've never worn more black in my life!"
Moms Get Things Done!
"I'm more focused and efficient now. What would have taken me ten hours, I now give myself two. It's a mission that I need to accomplish because my son is waiting for me to put him in my lap."
Her Fave Baby Stuff
Zoe swears by California Baby products, such as the Calendula Cream, to soothe her son's skin. ($13; CaliforniaBaby.com)
Seventh Generation diapers also get her seal of approval. "I haven't had a leak, and we've put them to the test." ($11 and up; Diapers.com)
"Aden and Anais swaddles are the most amazing things ever. I like the more Bohemian patterns, like paisley and sunshine." ($40 for three; AdenAndAnais.com)
What's In A Name?
Skyler's nicknames include Sky, Sky-Sky, and Snugabunny. "I can't be apart from him or I start to have anxiety. Motherhood is the best thing ever. It gets better every second. It's like the happiest thing in the world!"
Zoe helped launch the nursery-design tool on Fisher-Price.com, which lets you see Sherwin-Williams paint colors on a virtual nursery's walls. "It makes designing your baby's room less of a gamble," she says. "This site is a brilliant concept, to see what colors look like beforehand."
