Surfing the Waves
Before I had kids, I always wanted to learn to surf but never got the chance. Last year, my husband and two children bought me a gift certificate for a weekend learn-to-surf clinic for women. Getting the opportunity to spend an entire weekend having fun in the ocean was the best gift ever!

Making an Impression
My best Mother's Day present was when my son was 2 years old. That year, my mother had him place his tiny hands in a clay plate. Afterward, they painted his handprints together and gave it to me as a gift. I will always cherish that plate. Now that my son is older, we often look at the little handprints together.

My husband made me a colorful collage of my first year of motherhood. It was filled with pictures and cutouts of all my favorite memories. It was such a thoughtful gift that I cried.

Sweet Child of Mine
My favorite present was my daughter. She was born unexpectedly the day before Mother's Day. I'm sure I'll get many gifts on this holiday in the years to come, but none will compare to having my daughter!

When my son turned 4, he insisted on picking something out by himself. That Mother's Day he walked in the door holding the prettiest little bouquet of pink flowers and a matching pink card. It was so sweet to see how proud he was to give me that present. That happy memory still makes me smile.

One year my husband and 3-year-old daughter bought me a picture frame that talked. He found a picture of our daughter and then helped her record the message, "I love you, Mommy!" I listen to that frame every day.

Made with Love
The year I was pregnant with our first child, my husband gave me a beautiful card he had made himself on behalf of our unborn daughter. Inside, he enclosed a gift certificate to the local spa and salon. To this day, I still have the card and often smile at the idea of him cutting out hearts and flowers on construction paper!
