Materials used: ultra fine glitter* (diamonds pastels in yellow, blue, pink, lavender, aqua), sparking glitter, ZIG 2-Way Glue (chisel & fine tip), glue pen, egg dyeing paints, egg dyes. **Eggs should be emptied prior to dyeing.
**How to empty eggs: It is important to make sure the eggs are at room temperature. Wash egg with soap and water. This limits the chance of salmonella or other germs from the shell since your mouth will be making contact with the shell. With needle or tack , while holding egg in the palm of your hand, make hole in each end of the egg. Use a toothpick to gently increase the size of one of the holes. Use a large needle to gently break up the yolk. Stand over bowl and blow firmly into the smaller hole to force contents out of the opposite larger hole. It might require quite a bit of force to blow out the contents. Repeat blowing until egg is empty.
Follow package instructions when diluting dye with water. You will need at least 1 cup of dyed water to completely cover the egg. Darker colors work faster and are better for the glitter designs. Stir egg from time to time in order to evenly distribute dye. Using a glue pen, draw a part of the design, sprinkle some glitter, brush off any excess and repeat until entire egg is covered. Thread ribbon.

Materials used: Yellow mohair-look acrylic yarn, *pom-pom maker, 30 gauge cloth-covered florist wire, needle nose pliers, black beads, needle and thread, orange acrylic paint, orange wool or felt, ribbon, white card stock, pastel alphabet beads, pastel decorative paper, glue gun or tacky glue.
Using *pom-pom maker, make one 2" pom-pom and one 1" pom pom from yellow yarn (make pom-poms quite dense). Fluff and trim as needed. Using needle and thread, attach small pom-pom to large to form body and head. Using needle and thread, attach black beads to sides of head for eyes. Cut a diamond shape from orange felt; using needle and thread, attach to head for beak, pulling tightly to "snug" beak into head (use a dab of glue on beak for extra security, if desired). Attach a small bow to head. For legs, using one piece of wire for each, make an "M" shape, squeezing points together tightly with pliers. Add an additional point to side; bring long ends to back. Bend one long end straight up; with the other end, make a point for back of foot. Bend leftover end up and twist two ends together to make desired length of leg. Snip off extra wire and bend top of leg down in small "U" shape. Paint using acrylic paint. When dry, attach legs using glue and inserting deeply into body pom-pom. Adjust to make sure chick stands. For tail, make 6 loops yarn in desired length and wrap tightly to make bundle-insert in back of body with needle and thread and fluff. For place card, cut white tag of desired size from cardstock; back with decorative paper, allowing small border to show around outside of card. Spell name with alphabet beads, attaching with glue. Tie card to leg using sheer ribbon.
