The best gift I got my son was his balance bike. It's ingenious-a pedal-less bike to help kids 1-5 learn to balance and steer. After 3 months, he is riding down grassy hills holding his feet up. We take it to festivals & anywhere a stroller can go. It's not only convenient, but a fantastic learning tool. On the website there's a video of a 2 yr old riding the ramps at a skate park. Unreal! We're doing things so backwards by using training wheels. http://striderkids.com/photogallery.html

8/16/2011 12:46:02 AM Report AbuseAll the toys are so expensive, it is important for kids to use their imagination so an 18 month old could make a doll or car out of anything. I liked this blogs take on gift giving: http://momscompass.blogspot.com/2010/12/childrens-toys-gift-giving.html
