You and your child can keep fit and have some fun with this set of ballet-inspired exercises that work the arms and legs. Once you're warmed up, put on some classical music and get your heart pumping by improvising a dance using your best ballet moves.

Rising Releve

Just Dance!

Stand with your feet hip-width apart, toes turned out. Hold your arms above your head, bending them in slightly at the elbows. With a straight back, lift your heels. Hold the position for 10 seconds, then lower. Repeat eight times.

Leg Sweeps

Just Dance!

Stand as shown. With a straight back, swing your outer leg forward, then back, keeping it fully extended and lifting it as high as you can. Repeat eight times, then turn, reposition your hands, and repeat eight times with the other leg.

Plie dips

Just Dance!

Stand as shown, with your feet hip-width apart, toes turned out. With a straight back, bend your knees and lower yourself as far as you can. Hold the position for 4 seconds, then straighten your legs. Repeat eight times.
