Recently made into a movie, Maurice Sendak's magical, ferocious book tells the story of a misbehaving boy named Max who sails off in a boat to a place where monsters "gnash their terrible teeth" and "roar their terrible roars." The book packs a powerful punch of adventure and whimsy, ending happily back at home with hot soup.

This has been my favorite children's book since I was in kindergarten. I will definitely be reading this book to my child many, many times. One of my baby showers even had the theme of "Where the Wild Things Are." I didn't care for the movie, but I love the book.

1/24/2012 11:37:35 PM Report AbuseThe one thing that frustrates me about this website, is that you cannnot read an entire article and you have to keep selecting the next page. I dont normally read links on this site because of that. I wish they would just publish one article you can scroll down and read easily.
