What You'll Need:

Heart template, colored cardstock, scissors, tape, regular sewing needle, plastic child-safe tapestry needles, colored yarn

Make It:

  1. Print the heart template and cut it out. Next, cut a 4"x8" piece of cardstock and fold it in half. Lightly tape the template to the front of the card.
  2. Unfold the card and lay it flat. Using the template as a guide, punch holes in the card with a regular sewing needle. Remove the template from the card.
  3. Have your child thread a tapestry needle with colored yarn and knot the end. Starting from the inside of the card, stitch the yarn from side to side across the heart, not around the edges.
  4. Finish by knotting on the inside of the card and trimming any excess yarn.
