Make a Tramp Art Box
Re-create the layered, notch-edged look of a classic folk art form using craft foam -- no special tools required.

Make a Tramp Art Box
You will need:
Small cardboard box (we used a tea box)
Craft foam
Felt
Pinking shears
Tacky glue
Tape (optional)

Step 1
Trace the top and sides of the box on to the craft foam. Trace the bottom onto a piece of felt.

Step 2
Use pinking shears to cut out the five craft foam pieces. Cut the felt piece with scissors.

Step 3
Cut six successively smaller pieces for the sides and top of the box. Each piece should be about one inch smaller all around than the piece beneath it. Glue the stacked pieces in place with tacky glue. Let the glue dry for an hour or so.

Step 4
Glue the stacked panels to the box. If needed, use tape to hold the panels in place while the glue dries.

Step 5
Adhere the piece of felt to the inside of the box with a few drops of tacky glue.
