What You'll Need:

1 skein of thick yarn, thin book (approximately 5 inches tall), scissors, assortment of craft supplies (pipe cleaners or chenille stems, buttons or beads, miniature pom-poms, googly eyes, craft foam, felt, buttons, feathers), glue

Make It:

  1. Wrap yarn around a small book 80 to 100 times, until the yarn is 1 1/2 inches thick on each side. Slip the yarn carefully off the book.
  2. Cut a 6-inch strand of yarn from the skein; knot it tightly around the center of the yarn bundle.
  3. Snip each loop until a pom-pom forms. Trim as needed.
  4. Decorate the pom-pom with craft supplies. Use pipe cleaners or chenille stems for arms and legs. Glue googly eyes, feathers for ears, lips cut from craft foam, a button or bead for a nose, and a belt from felt. Get creative!
