Parents Magazine Cover Contest FAQs

They posted winners on Facebook. Chose some very standard kids representing the races well and then selected the same girl as last year giving her a different name. Nice.

I asked them and they gave me a canned response that they will be posted at a certain date. Can't remember the date. Not sure I buy any of this contest.

I have been looking for the pictures of the chosen semifinalists. Does anyone know where they are posted?

Has anyone been notified about being chosen? I did hear back from Parenting but no confirmation that folks have been notified.

I had a very difficult time uploading my photos. I asked & asked for help and finally uploaded them by way of Facebook. I am having the same feeling regarding my photo being a part of the contest. I tried to do a search using key term and could not find our picture. I feel really in the dark.

Seems I'm having the same problem as alot of other people. I haven't received an email, nor is there a VOTE button. It s almost like my pics aren't entered in the contest, but instead just uploaded into an album. But I submitted the pics and even had to select that box saying I agreed to the rules of the contest. My family would also like to be able to go on and vote for my son.....please let me know what is going on!

So glad to hear from someone whose child made it in the the semi-finals. Good luck to all of you who made it. Must have been a very difficult job for the judges with so many adorable children.

My son was very lucky to be one of the semi-finalists and I can attest to the fact that the judges looked at all the photos, as I never even told anyone that I had submitted his photo. We are now waiting patiently to find out if we will be chosen as one of the lucky nine to go to New York... I would encourage everyone out there to keep submitting for these contests, you never know when you might get chosen. And the kid's photos are great fun to browse- so many cuties!

I think the contest was fair. The fan favorite is the only part done by voting. Even if you dont have a lot people to vote, you still have a chance to be noticed by the judges. I think it is silly that so many people are getting so upset about this. There were over 95,000 entries! Getting noticed here is truly like hitting the lottery. Maybe the entries should be cut off at a manageable #. It is really just "luck of the draw"....Congrats to all that made it to round 2

and honestly its un fair that its based on votes, what if some people dont have alot of family on facebook or any other websites. and honestly doubt the judges look at every single picture entered in the contest.

I think the contests needs to be more organized... and every baby should atleast be noticed.

According to the rules 07/16 is the deadline for round 2 semi finalists to submit 5 more pictures. Since that is tomorrow, we can only assume those folks have been notified already. I would have expected a little bragging though! LOL! Ya know...."My child is a semi finalist!" I have only seen the readers choice braggers. Hmmmm. Whats going on?

Anyhow, all you guys have beautiful kids, you know you don't need a group of judges to tell you any different. It would just have been a great experience to have had your own child chosen! Congrats to everyone, all the kids are special and we're blessed to have them!

I do agree in that I also think they should make some sort of announcement even if just on the main page, to let us know if they've already made the decisions and if we weren't contacted then we weren't chosen. They probably avoid bringing it up in the case that some people might be angry if their kids weren't chosen, and start up hate mail lol.

I got a free Parents Magazine in the mail yesterday, does that mean i won? LOL. Anyone else? It would be nice if they announced the winners.

Rules state the semifinalists will be notified on or about July 7th, and today is the 11th! Are they behind because of the holiday...doubtful!I do agree completely with the comments made regarding the readers choice.I'm sure the contest has come to an end for everyone outside of the selected 20. They will probably post all twenty when the final readers choice voting is over. Sadly for us, another Parents Magazine photo contest entered and lost or overlooked!

I guess it would be safe to assume that if we haven't been contacted by now that our child was not chosen.

avonleaochat - the reason the 11 finalists seem like they are the ones with the most votes is because they ARE the top voted, those 11 are now in the running to get more votes to determine the TOP readers choice, there will be only one. It's not the 20 that the judges select. I do wish they would announce those 20, or at least if they have been chosen.

I completely think that this contest was not fair at all... It seems to me that the kids with the most votes from facebook friends and family are the ones who got to be the final 11 & thats one of the reasons why My daughters pictures were probably not even looked at by the judges; and it one of you " FAQ" questions asks, " Do the judges really look at all of the pictures; and it says " Yes they really look at all of them" if thats true, doubt it would be the finalsts now

I'm *trying* to be diplomatic, but no one else got a caption, so the mom part of me insde is going bonkers! And sure, if you'd like to toss a vote to my son(I know, he has very long hair) haha. That would be lovely! But I doubt it would help at this point :) <3 He's Auryn, on page 20 today.

I finally recieved my link. My friends & family have been voting like crazy. Sadly, all of it was moot as they have all been from computers logged in to the same 2 routers? So they look like only 2 votes? It's all over anyway. The current #1 girl's mom wrote on her photo to gain more votes. Hello! I'm not sure what happened with my daughter's pictures. The photos are posted, but there's no way to vote for her b/c there's no "vote here" button below her pictures. I have no idea what happened, but no one can vote for her. And, I never rec'd an email saying that voting was open. I'm kinda upset by the whole process.

I'm really annoyed as well: what happened to their rule that you can vote for your kid "You can vote for your child's photo one time per day" during the week after you submitted the kid's photo. It doesn't work as everyone to whom I sent the link to vote has noted. And I know it worked in previous weeks since it worked for my friends' photo. I'm really annoyed. I never received the link they said they'd send.

Ellen- i believe the actual judging part has already been decided, they have chosen the 20 finalists that will be then widdled down to 9. The ones we are trying to vote on is to make it for the last spot as the readers choice entrant

Dont be too stressed about the Photo Faves....The reality is, there are so many entrants per week (thousands), that the likelihood your kid being number one is next to impossible. Right now the number one spot is held by a photo of a dog and baby - think it is # one b/c of the dog though. Just wait for the real judging...if your kid is meant to win and is super cute - they might get picked. Dont stress - not worth it!!

I just cannot say how angry I am with this process, the editors should just pick all top ten kids as this whole reader's choice thing sucks. No one can find their kid, there are computer savvy people cheating, I also never received any link for my child. I contacted customer service and they sent me an email back saying that they emailed my link to me yesterday, but there was and still is no link.

Mee Tooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!!!!! I am so angry. I did not recieve an email with a link and I think this whole process is confusing. I checked my spam folder and everything, and I just did not get an email at all. I have many friends and family that wanted to vote. I think there should be a 12th week of voting for all of us who got shafted.

I still cannot locate my child's photo, either. I've emailed both of the emails provided and sent a request for help to customer service, with no reply. I see multiple people having the same problem, and now I see some people got two entries! What the heck? This is really frustrating. Clearly some people received their emails, as there are varying ranks next to the photos today. This was a very frustrating experience. I agree with nvangell that whoever wins it will be sheer luck.

I wanted to have 2 photos in my album but instead it entered my daughter twice. Will she be disqualified?

I am having the same trouble. Entered my son on Saturday and still have not received the link. Did receive email on Saturday saying he was in the contest and to watch for an email with the link to vote. I have tried searching through the photos to find his, but there are over 25000...help! I got my link (a day late) and half the time it directs to someone else's child. Not random ones, always the same boy. It's totally hit or miss for my friends and family too. This is so unfair. Whoever wins will be by sheer luck.

I never recieved the email either and when I went to the "can't find my child's photo" link and put in my email address, it said there were no photos associated with my email! Funny, because I got the link to my album (that says 2010 cover photo contest on it) at that email and I use that email to log in! HELP!!!! What do I do???? It is already Tuesday and I can't vote for my child!!!!

HELP ME!!! My husband never received the link either! I'm very upset! I definitely agree with holly31flvers about the instructions being a joke! Someone with the magazine needs to address this problem!

I never received an e-mail with a link where friends can vote. It is way past the deadline. No voting button appears under my child's photos, either. The instructions for this contest were very poorly written and the set-up is very frustrating.

This week is my week to be able to vote and others to vote but I don't see any "vote for me" button!!! Where is it!!

So, I'm suppose to be able to vote for my child and have others vote for him as of midnight last night, but this is not available. Seems like quite a few of us are having this issue.

I hate to say this, but THIS IS IT!!..if you haven't received the link by now...it's probably not going to happen. I have the same problem since last week, I emailed them and emailed them, and STILL NO LINK TO VOTE...the problem never got resolved. So we uploaded the entire album last week again hoping it will work this week....NOPE..no vote button for this week either....they obviously have internal network problem.

We never recieved the email to vote either...pretty frustrating, sounds like it's a problem that has happened to a lot of people. We were able to upload our pictures successfully, see them amongst the other photos and even "like" them but we never recieved the "vote for me" email...ARGH

Is it just me but I DON'T see where it says vote for me

I submitted my main photo the other day and it uploaded successfully, so at least I have that. But when I try to enter some of the other 5 we are allowed, it will not work. The page just sits there and won't add the pictures. I emailed for help and they told me either my pictures are too big (they aren't) or the site is busy (I've tried at all different times.) They said if neither of those things was it, they couldn't help me. Guess it is my fault their website isn't working correctly. :(

niicola412 I was suppose to be voting this week as well. I got the first email telling everyone the link to view my recently uploaded pictures, but I never got the link to vote. When I put my email in to find my photos for the readers choice, I also get an email saying there are no photos for my email.

I see that so many of you are having the same problem I am. I load my photos, fill out the information and hit submit and I am taken back to the beginning and nothing is ever submitted. I am running out of time! Has anyone figured it out or gotten any answers? Thanks!

I know how voting works and I know that LOTS of people are having problems. for last week my son came in 3rd place and had 1,967 Facebook "likes" 1st and 2nd place had 76 and 23. I know that likes don't mean votes but we did have threads on our facebook pages of people that actaully vote, enter the "captcha" text and click submit. I wish a company as big a Parents.com would have voting software that actaully worked. I know LOTS of people, not just ones I know but other commetns here of peopl

At niicola412, I'm having the same problem, I submitted on 6/09, so we should be able to vote this week.... and yep they sent me an email saying that they sent out links to vote...but i never received it....so i sent them an email and they're working on it....hopefully they fix it and make it so we can vote next week. You are not alone, that's for sure. I mean if they can send me an email saying thanks for entering the contest, and we sent you a link...I should be able to see the LINK...

I never received an email or vote buttons, and am very confused about the fan favorite voting! I did get an email right after I entered confirming my entry that links to my photos. Also wanted to rearrange the order my pics were in, and according to the rules you can do that the first week, but I could never figure out how to do that either. Not very user friendly!

Well according to the rules, once your child is entered into the contest, they are supposed to send us an email to a link to let us know when we can start voting depending on which time frame you entered the contest. It should have a voting button on the bottom of your child's picture....well, I submitted last week and are supposed to start voting this week 6-14 to 6-20 but STILL NO EMAIL YET OR LINK FOR VOTING...getting frustrated. Please help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Where is the voting button? I still can't add the changes. The deadline to edit will be here soon and I really wanted a different photo for the main photo. I thought I would be able to choose which photo would be the main photo. This has been stressful. I spent hours choosing my photos to enter and now my favorite photo is not the featured photo for your judges to see. I hope they do look at the various photos in the album because I tried to show my daughters various expressions.

I AM ALSO HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM WITH THE "ADD" BUTTON. I HAVE A FEW FAVORITES THAT I WANT TO ADD BUT IT WONT WORK. PLEEEEEAAAAASE FIX THIS!

Problem 1-I also do not have the vote button by my childs photos. Problem 2-I also tried to edit my album to change the order of photos and it will let me do all the editing but then the submit album button will not work. I was trying to switch the enlarged photo to one of the other photos. I had a favorite photo I wanted as the main photo.

I am also having trouble adding more photos to my album. Can you please fix the "add to album" button? Thank you!

I keep submitting my photos and after I hit enter it automatically takes me back to the "submit your photos" page. I have no idea whether my photos have been submitted. However, when I do a search for them I can't find them. Help!

I am having the same problem that many others have commented on....there is no "vote for me" button. All of my family and friends are emailing me and asking how they vote. I am not sure what to tell them. Please Parents magazine respond to this. Why is going on? How do we get votes when there is no vote button?
