Our garbage art animal!

My son was assigned a project for school...to build an animal out of things you can find around the house.  From the list, he chose to build a porcupine.  Here is how our little animal turned out!  Isn't he cute?

He's made of a styrofoam crab trap bouy cut in half, many many toothpicks, brown spray paint, 2 screw for eyes, a plastic screw for nose, metal ring cut in half for mouth, screws for legs and cardboard feet colored black with marker :smileyhappy:  His teacher and classmates loved how he turned out.

Other unusual art projects

Even though this link below appears to be directed towards teachers, I like to occasionally get my kids involved in one or more of these art projects, just for fun.  The "Monet Light Experiment" is something any kid can do with a smart phone camera, it's an interesting way to show how light affects color.  Check them out here:
