Twins!?! First pregnancy...

So I'm approximately 5.5 weeks along (early, I know). I had a blood draw 7/31 which included hCG. Today I was informed the levels were 25,000 (more specific # that I can't remember, lol). My last blood draw was 7/27 & the levels from that were 7,663. I am currently 41 days from the first day of my last period. I am well aware that hCG charts are "approximates" & every woman is different but I'm just curious if they're THIS off or if it's possible I could be carrying twins. Anyone else have such high levels so early?!

Re: Twins!?! First pregnancy...

When I did my blood draws with my third pregnancy (at first u/s we couldn't find a baby so we weren't sure I was actually pregnant or not) I was told that the doubling was supposed to be every two, possibly three days. Since you went four days, you should've had the second draw on the 29th and gotten somewhere around 14,000, and then somewhere around 25-28000 on the 31st.

I looked up the lab chart I was sent for normal values:

Pregnancy Ranges:
0-1 weeks: 0-50 mIU/mL
1-2 weeks: 40-426 mIU/mL
2-3 weeks: 400-7340 mIU/mL
3-4 weeks: 1080-56,500 mIU/mL
1-2 months: 7650-229,000 mIU/mL
2-3 months: 25,700-288,000 mIU/mL
2nd trimester: 4060-254,000 mIU/mL
3rd trimester: 3640-117,000 mIU/mL

I would just sit tight, but going off the normal chart that I was sent yours aren't exceptionally high :smileyhappy:

Re: Twins!?! First pregnancy...

Hard to say :smileyhappy:  There is such a large difference in the low average and high average for each week.  I always had very low HCG levels with my pregnancies for some reason.  I was always on the low end so I'm not much help :smileyhappy:
