How can you pinpoint conception if your not sure of your period date

I remember having a period around the first of July that really wouldn't go off until like the 10th and after that I don't remember seeing much of blood anymore.. The doctor is saying that I had a period on the 10th and ovulated there after.. When I first found out I was pregnant I was 6 weeks. They say my conception date is the 24 of July. But I've been told your actually pregnant before you find out that your pregnant how does the conception thing truly work.? I've been trying to understand. It for the longest.

Re: How can you pinpoint conception if your not sure of your period date

It depends on how long your cycle is. For most women since they are on 28 day cycles, it's usually 14 days after the first day of your period. If your cycle is longer or shorter than that, it's whichever day would have been 14 days before the first day of your next period. Hope that makes sense!
