Unplanned events

So today, at 21 weeks 1 day, my gallbladder is being evicted. Never did I ever think I'd take pain medicine while pregnant, much less have a major operation. Thankfully, my baby boy seems perfectly fine despite all the drama. He's wiggling all over & kicking like crazy.

All prayers and good thoughts are welcomed today as we go into surgery & hopefully recover safely.

Anyone else having unplanned events turning your pregnancy upside down?

[ Edited ]

I had my gallbladder out while I was pregnant. Not fun at all but it's better than remaining in pain. I tried to manage it at first through diet and I manage for the first pregnancy but the second one I wasn't so lucky.

It's hard to plan life detail by detail. Sometimes it's best to let things happen as thy will and sometimes we just have zero control over what happens.

Such is life :smileyhappy: I guess that is why we must enjoy the here and now.

Hope you and baby are getting plenty of rest and feeling much better soon!

Re: Unplanned events

I'm sorry I'm just seeing this.  I hope your surgery went well and you're recovering now.

My only curve with this pregnancy is that with my last miscarriage back in December, we found out that I have a clotting disorder (hence the miscarriages).  So, unlike my last 2 pregnancies, I have to give myself shots every day until I deliver.  I started at 6 weeks and STILL can't get used to it.

Re: Unplanned events

I'm 21 wks and have been having cramps as if I have my period for the past 2 days. Should I worry?

Re: Unplanned events

I don't know if the cramps have gone away or not, but period like cramps are something to at least call your dr about.  It's hard to know if stuff like that is ok or could be something wrong without being checked out.

Re: Unplanned events

Hopefully you got it figured out, I had the same thing happen to me at 20 weeks, and I was petrified. My uterus was going through what felt like contractions. I talked with my doctor on the phone, as I was in another state, and we decided that it was just round ligament pain. Hopefully that's what yours is, also. She asked me to check if I was bleeding, which was a bit hard to do on the expressway with my husband and 12 year old step son in the car, as well. Thank God I wasn't.
