Gastric bypass pregnancy

I had gastric bypass surgery (weight loss) almost one year ago. My last pregnancy was in 2007 and it was a miscarriage. I have a 10 year old daughter. I am trying to eat extra protein but I don't have the desire to eat. I also just found out I have a bladder infection which is being treated. I just weighted myself and have lost 4 lbs in 4 days and I'm scared. I don't know if I have any questions just want to see if anyone has this issue or what.

Re: Gastric bypass pregnancy

It is a little scary. I have actual had an appetite and been eating more. I was sick at first but I am doing good now. I want to make sure the baby has enough protein. I know I have to have more protein. When is your due date? Mine is May 6, 2014. I go see my bariatric doctor on Friday.

Re: Gastric bypass pregnancy

Yeah since my last post on here I've had more of an appetite also and have been eating a lot of fruit. I struggle with protein also I've really gone off meat but I know u can have things like yoghurt as a substitute.
My due date is 8th May 2014.
My G.P has arranged for me to see a specialist to try and improve my eating and get a bit of help so waiting for my referral.
Since I found out I'm pregnant I've been so sick and not sleeping and I wake up with morning sickness early hours of the morning it's so weird, I bought a sea band which is supposed to help with nausea I've kept it on hope this helps a bit but it didn't do too much at 4am this morning lol.

Re: Gastric bypass pregnancy

Hi ladies, I had a small bowel resection in 2005, it is also a weight loss operation but apparently not the preferred weightloss op in South Africa.. they shortened my intestines to 30cms and  I have no support of a bariatric centre.  I have also been very sick since i fell pregnant and been battling to eat and drink... the last few days I have started to feel a little better.  I have lost 3kgs in the last 3 months.

I have been having tummy aches and a very busy tummy - I'm sure it's not my baby that's hurting but I'm wondering if I should go see the doc or wait for my 12 week scan next week..
