night weaning and co sleeping

My daughter is 8 months old. We are currently co sleeping but i would like to change that. I read somewhere that if you are ready to switch to a crib but your baby isnt sleeping throughout the night you should night wean them first. I am just completely clueless as to how i should do this considering she doesnt seem to know how to sooth herself to bed, and she will not take a paci. She wakes up three or more times a night and barely drinks enough to fall back asleep. I try and rock her back to sleep vut it never works. Any sugestions?

Re: night weaning and co sleeping

I ended up just doing the switch cold turkey around 9 months. My milk supply totally dried out due to a medication I was placed on and I did not feel like making bottles in the middle of the night, lol. And no one got sleep in our bed.

I used the book Good Night, Sleep Tight and the sleep lady shuffle to get my kids sleeping on their own. It was a good option I was comfortable with.
